Key responsibilities of the unit include:

  • Social Development Initiatives – Supporting vulnerable groups including women, youth, the elderly, and people living with disabilities through targeted programs
  • Public Participation – Strengthening citizen involvement in governance, planning, and local decision-making processes
  • Educational Campaigns – Hosting awareness drives on issues such as gender-based violence, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and civic responsibility
  • Skills Development & Empowerment – Partnering with NGOs, government agencies, and local stakeholders to deliver training, workshops, and outreach opportunities
  • Events & Community Building – Coordinating municipal and national commemorative days, cultural celebrations, and local outreach events

Through these efforts, the Community Programs Unit helps create informed, engaged, and resilient communities that play an active role in shaping the future of the municipality.
