Municipality Mourns The Death Of An 84 Year Old
An 84-year-old woman who was raped by a 21-year-old and admitted to a hospital two weeks ago died this weekend.
Isiah 55 verse 8 says:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”
Mayor Cllr Sindisiwe Msomi, expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, who have lost a sister, mother and a grandmother.
Mayor Msomi pointed out that the society has been rocked by a series of murders of women, and she called upon all residents to join the movement to break the cycle of violence.
“Our message to those who abuse women has been made abundantly clear: there is no place in our society for you. We will not be defeated by this scourge. We will turn the tide.
Let us move together, a society resolute and above all united, to end gender-based violence and femicide forever.” said the Mayor.
The municipality will host a Mens Imbizo Dialogue on the 28 October 2022 at Mkhazini Community Hall under ward 8, this is the very same ward which has reported a high number of these Gender Based Violence cases.
