Schools Monitoring Program

The KZN Legislature and Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Local Municipality accompanied by other stakeholders visiting Faithway High School in Underberg, Ward 03 and Dingeka High School in Gobhogobho, Ward 10 to monitor the functionality of schools.

Faithway Christian School obtained 100% matric pass rate whilst Dingeka Technical High School obtained 85.5% in their class of 2021.

The Mayor of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Local Municipality Cllr PS Msomi is pleased and satisfied by the performance and effort shown by these schools teachers and learners. The Mayor pleaded with the Department of Education to partner with NGOs who are willing to build a High School that will cater for indigent communities in the Underberg area.

She also urged the Department to develop Dingeka High School to a fully fledged Technical School that was aimed at its initiation. The Mayor handed over Dictionaries and vouchers to buy school uniforms. 16 pair of school shoes for girls were also donated to the schools by the Harry Gwala District Municipality. The Local Youth Council noted the social ills and challenges faced by schools particularly learners and promised to work closely with affected parties.
