Meet The Deputy Mayor – Cllr. Kholeka  Hadebe

​The ethos of diligence and resilience was instilled in Councillor Hadebe at an early age, born in 1983 in the village of Newtonville under Creighton, an astute community Leader a Member of the Women’s caucus.Councillor Kholeka  Hadebe matriculated from Sonyongwana High School in the year 2000.

The enthusiastic Councillor made history on Monday, 22 November 2021, when she was elected as the first female Deputy Mayor of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Municipality during a special council meeting. Now, Councillor Hadebe is delighted to finally use her passion for humanity to take the municipality to new heights. 

The pull towards politics came in 2006 when she was elected as a Branch Executive Committee member of the ANCYL Mpumelelo Made branch until 2009. She was elected to serve in the KZN ANCYL provincial executive committee as well as in the provincial working committee as a member from 2013-2015 & again in 2015 to 2021. At branch level Councillor Hadebe was elected into the position of branch Secretary.
