The Office of the Municipal Manager is the administrative heart of the Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Municipality. As the accounting officer and head of administration, the Municipal Manager is responsible for ensuring that the municipality operates efficiently, ethically, and in full compliance with legislation.
Key functions of the Office include:
- Strategic Leadership – Providing direction and oversight to all departments in alignment with the municipality’s vision and Integrated Development Plan (IDP)
- Governance and Compliance – Ensuring good governance, sound financial management, and adherence to policies and legislative frameworks
- Service Delivery Oversight – Monitoring performance and ensuring the timely delivery of services to communities
- Stakeholder Coordination – Facilitating communication between the municipal council, administration, communities, and external stakeholders
- Institutional Development – Driving organizational transformation, capacity building, and innovation within the municipality
