Mayor’s Easter Message

To the community of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Local Municipality, I wish all the Christian residents a blessed Easter.

During this time of the year, our diversity as a nation is strengthened by the spiritual renewals that consume our faith. Over the next few days, Christians will be celebrating Easter and I wish to urge you all to use this period of spiritual invigoration to reflect on how you best as community, can contribute towards building social cohesion in our local Municipality.

May I wish all Christians well as they converge in various places of worship during the Easter weekend. Please pray for our local and our district in your respective churches and places of worship. Let us pray for peace, harmony, and prosperity in our local communities. Let us also pray for strength and wisdom so that we can overcome various challenges that confront our communities. 

Easter is also a family outing or a reunion. In Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Municipality, the 30th Splashy Fen Music Festival which will be held in Bushman’s Nek from the 18th of April to 21st of April 2019, promises to be the most exciting splashy fen ever, with many treats in store and all artists around the world. This year the Splashy Fen celebrates its 30th anniversary, from its tottering steps as part of our local festival, over the years it has matured into a multifaceted showcase of local, national and international entertainment acts. We welcome all the visitors who will be coming to our area.  Please enjoy your stay and have fun with your loved ones.

Most of us will be using our country’s roads during the Easter weekend so let us be vigilant and travel safely so that we all arrive alive.
