Official Opening Of Sopholile Creche Under Ward9
Yesterday 11 October 2022, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Sindisiwe Msomi officially handed over a state of the art facility, Sopholile Creche under ward 9. Mayor was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Cllr Kholeka Hadebe, Whip Cllr Vusi Mthembu, Exco Member Cllr Sikhumbuzo Mlibeni and all Municipal Councillors.
Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Local Municipality believes that it is important to equip each child with a quality foundation phase education in order to ensure that all children of this municipality have a chance of a
better life. It was then resolved that each Ward in the Municipality must have centres for Early Childhood Development (ECD).
This 150m2 creche boast of a kitchen, sick room, two classrooms, ablution facility which caters for males, females and people living with disabilities.
“This creche will be a success story in this area, Children will be raised with a strong foundation, talent will be discovered here at a young age, and this community’s youth will be developed. “I firmly believe that investing in education is an important first step in addressing social ills, and the children will be in capable hands with such a facility equipped with all the necessary tools.” said Mayor Msomi.
