Subsequent to the ongoing service delivery protest in the Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Municipality area, the municipal leadership led by the Mayor, Cllr PN Mncwabe and Speaker of the council, Cllr M Banda held a number of community meetings to remedy and calm the situation in heated areas. The meetings were called in collaboration with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport, to address road concerns, KwaZulu-Natal Department of Human Settlement, on issues of RDP housing projects, KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs as well as Harry Gwala District Municipality on matters of water and sanitation. The community also received an opportunity to ask questions about the status of projects in their areas. This is another way Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma Municipality attempts to forge a balanced relationship with its people where most issues are resolved in a round table instead of violent protests.
