Embarked on a cleanup and awareness campaign in Centocow Taxi rank with the aim to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our environment clean. The clean up campaign was a great success with attendance from the local school Thanduxolo Primary School led by the school teacher Mr Mgegeba. The aim was to teach the learners on the impacts of litter and also to teach them about the importance of keeping their schools clean.
Dr NDZ Municipality has installed drums for the public to utilize instead of throwing litter to the environment people were educated where to dispose litter which will assist in keeping our places litter free. Awareness was raised on the impacts of incorrectly disposed waste on our streams, the air we breathing and opportunities that are available on the waste sector. There were so many bottles, plastics and cupboards that were discovered which communities can use to generate income, put bread in the table and contribute to the local economy.
